Shot on the Sony A6500 in pretty low lighting conditions.
Turn up your volume and be amazed by the One Man Band featuring Ashraf Maniam haha. I was when I spent an hour or so at his house as he was showing me his new loop pedal and what he could play with it impromptu. His spotaneous performance was too good for me not to record, and unfortunately I only had a single camera with me and had none of my additional equipment which I wish I had (e.g. external mic, proper lights, gymbal stabilizer etc.)
This is my attempt to capture and record Ashraf's amazing performance and I figured I couldn't just leave it as a simple place-on-tripod kind of video. I tried to instill some of his music's 'jazzy-ness' into the film style by introducing some small warp distortion effect into the video, which reacts slightly to his music. Unfortunately, the video was entirely shot hand-held with the on-camera mic, so some bits got a little bit TOO crazy, but still his music is awesome. We swear one day we will do something proper like a music video, next time with the proper setup haha. (: Can't wait!
So the Singaporeans studying at ETH and UZH decided to attempt the MANNEQUIN CHALLENGE!
When we were brainstorming what poses to do, somehow a lot of mad, crazy (and somewhat psychopathic) ones made it into the final video. Had so much fun doing this, and it took considerably little effort and time, just three takes and half an hour of editing, all thanks to the amazing efforts of the featured people (they didn't blink at all even though I stuffed my camera in front of their faces for so long). Great way to end off the winter semester! (:
